Welcome to the annual Autumn Symposium of the Finnish Association of Applied Linguistics (AFinLA) to be held in Tampere 9–11 November 2023! The symposium brings together linguists, researchers and others interested in applied linguistics to reflect on the featured topics in creative and versatile and wide-ranging ways, from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The theme of the symposium is Building bridges through research, which encourages participants to explore new connections between different research methods, data types, theoretical trends, paradigms, language concepts or scientific disciplines.
We invite linguists and others interested in these topics to propose presentations for the symposium. Presentations on topics in applied linguistics that are not related to the conference theme are also welcome.
